The 145th MXG is the primary provider for a broad range of maintenance support for the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft assigned to the North Carolina Air National Guard. This includes component repair and equipment maintenance. The group also provides training for all aircraft maintenance technicians assigned to the 145th Airlift Wing. 

The mission of the 145th Maintenance Squadron is to provide safe, reliable aircraft and dependable maintenance support to the North Carolina Air National guard in fulfilling its global peacetime and combat tasking's.

The aircraft maintenance unit is responsible for the inspection, repair, launch and recovery of assigned C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.
