National Disaster Medical System Exercise at the NC Air Guard
Charlotte, N.C. – Carolinas Medical Center, MED-1, a 53-foot long transportable mobile-treatment center, sits outside of the main hanger at the 145th Airlift Wing before a National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) regional exercise begins. The treatment center and staff will play the role of immediate medical care. More than a dozen city, state, and federal agencies worked together during the day long exercise at the Charlotte Air Guard base simulating over 100 evacuees arriving for medical care.
