Real World Members of the 145th Airlift Wing are briefed during an inspection held at the North Carolina Air National Guard (NCANG) Base, Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Nov. 1, 2024. The inspection tests the skills and abilities of NCANG members during a large-scale combat operation scenario with a focus on communications in a contested environment, fuel sustainment in engagement zones, and medical logistical support. EXERCISE Members of the 145th Air Expeditionary Wing are briefed in preparation of a forward deployment to an undisclosed location Nov. 1, 2024. The 145th Air Expeditionary Wing is a unit of the North Carolina Air National Guard that deploys out of Charlotte Air National Guard Base for strategic missions. The wing operates the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, providing airlift capabilities in support of national defense, disaster relief, and humanitarian missions. Established in 1948, the 145th Air Expeditionary Wing has a rich history of service and remains at the forefront of aerial operations and logistics support.
