U.S. Air Force Air Transportation Specialist, Staff. Sgt. Jason Moore, 145th Logistics Readiness Squadron, loads a large item aboard a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft during a Cargo Deployment Function (CDF) exercise held at the North Carolina Air National Guard Base, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Feb. 7, 2021. A CDF is similar to a personnel deployment line where you have a station to assemble items, check them for quality and to make sure they can safely be loaded onto an aircraft. Once the items are cleared to be loaded onto an aircraft, they reach the final phase of the CDF.
