U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Sara Evans a traditional guardsman with the 131st Bomb Wing in Missouri and Tech. Sgt. Stacey Wakefield a traditional guardsman with the 145th Airlift Wing in North Carolina both nominated their civilian supervisor Mr. Chris Mendlik for the ESGR Patriotic Employer Award, which was presented at the Wells Fargo Charlotte Customer Information Center, NC, June 14, 2019. The Patriotic Employer Award is the first level that an employer can be nominated for, and reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
