145th CES Airman promoted to highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant

U. S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Randall L. Jones, 145th Civil Engineer Squadron, was promoted to the highest enlisted rank of chief master sergeant during a ceremony held in his honor at the North Carolina Air National Guard Base, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Nov. 7, 2015. As part of the promotion ceremony, commanders, current and retired Airmen and family members were given the privilege of participating in the longstanding Air Force tradition of “tacking on” chief chevrons onto Jones’ uniform. Chief Master Sergeant is the ninth and highest enlisted rank in the Air Force, an achievement that only one percent of enlisted Airmen attain. Chief Jones enlisted in the military in 1988 and has been a member of the North Carolina Air National Guard since 1990. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Patricia F. Moran, 145th Public Affairs/Released)
