Airmen “Roll up their sleeves and give the gift of life”
Vials of blood donated by airmen from the 145th Airlift Wing during a blood drive held at the North Carolina Air National Guard base, Charlotte Douglas Intl. Airport, sit waiting to be tested by Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. About a dozen tests are performed on each vial to establish blood type and to test for infectious diseases. The blood donated by airmen at CBCC stays in the community helping patients in local hospitals. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Patricia F. Moran, 145th Public Affairs/Released)
