North Carolina Air National Guard; Stays Aware - Always Prepared
North Carolina Air National Guard has enhanced their ability to work with civilian agencies following a catastrophe, thanks to a new Mobile Emergency Operations Center (MEOC). Located at the North Carolina Air National Guard base, Charlotte Douglas Intl. Airport, the 36 feet long by 13 feet wide trailer is self-contained, using its own generator capable of supporting 24-hour operations for three to five days. It is specifically designed for use with civilian agencies. Airmen from the 145th Airlift Wing would deploy the MEOC at the request of the civilian community. The civilian emergency management officials could then work out of it side-by-side with our military responders. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Patricia F.
