North Carolina Air National Guard; Stays Aware - Always Prepared

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Dawn Hicks, 145th Civil Engineer Emergency Management, studies an operations manual to learn about the Mobile Emergency Operations Center (MEOC) assigned to the 145th Airlift Wing, North Carolina Air National Guard base, Charlotte Douglas Intl. Airport. One of fifteen currently in operation throughout the United States, the $750,000 unit features an on-board generator, a full suite of civilian communications capabilities and meeting room space. It is specifically designed for use with civilian agencies. Military first responders from the 145th Airlift Wing work with civilian emergency management officials, side-by-side.
