Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System
Airmen from the North Carolina Air National Guard's 145th Airlift Wing push a modular airborne fire fighting system onto a C-130 Hercules. The pressurized tanks hold 3,000 gallons of flame-retardant liquid. The retardant is dropped along the leading edge of a fire to block the spread of flames. (U.S. Air National Guard photo/Tech. Sgt.
