Charlotte, N.C. Master Sgt Diego Santos, a medical flight technician assigned to the 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, North Carolina Air Guard, inventories several liters before a National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) regional exercise begins. Santos tends to the patients during flight. More than two dozen city, state, and federal agencies worked together during the day long exercise at the Charlotte Air Guard base simulating over 100 evacuees arriving for medical care.
