National Disaster Medical System Regional Exercise at the 145th Airlift Wing
Charlotte, N.C. – Major Martha Alspaugh, a flight nurse assigned to the 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, North Carolina Air National Guard, acts as the medical crew director, and directs litter bearers as they offload patients, inside a C-130H Hercules aircraft during a National Disaster Medical System regional exercise at the Charlotte Air Guard base. Several dozen city, state, and federal agencies worked together during the day long exercise at the Charlotte Air Guard base simulating over 100 evacuees arriving for medical care.
