1948 Hollywood Trip - Recruiting reward
North Carolina Air National Guard, NCANG, 145th Airlift Wing, 145th AW, 156th Airlift Squadron, 156th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), It seems this group of airmen met the recruiting goal for the NCANG in 1948 and was flown to Hollywood Paramount Studios where this shot was taken during filming of a Gary Cooper and Jane Wyman movie. The clothing laying on the floor was Jane's as she removed them to change for another scene. Left to Right #1 Rudy Wardell, #2 Tom Polk, #3 Lawrence Sturkey, #4 Lewis Bradley, #5 Unk, #6 ? Green, #7 Jim Weathers, #8 Gill Hutchins, #9 Jean Doar, #10 Gary Cooper, #11 ? McIntosh, #12 Richard Lorance, #13 Wayne Morris, #14 Lee Hooper, #15 Bruce Bland, #16 Earl White, #17 Unk. The movie was "Task Force" released in 1949. Gary Cooper played an early Naval Aviator and the movie follows his career from the 'teens through WWII. Jane Wyman plays his wife. The gentleman in the naval uniform standing next to Cooper is actor Wayne Morris. Morris was a Navy fighter pilot in WWII, and shot down 7 Japanese planes during the war.
