The training is part of an ongoing project to renovate and transform an abandoned school into a 2nd Tarheel ChalleNGe site. Airmen will use heavy equipment to remove landscaping and clear terrain around future Tarheel Challenge Academy site in New London, North Carolina. The Tarheel ChalleNGe is a quasi-military style program that helps teens, ages 16 to 18, get their GED and develop life coping skills to prepare them for future employment or further education endeavors.
