U.S. Air Force Airmen from North and South Carolina Air National Guard stand at attention as their families respectfully hold their hands over hearts during the National Anthem at their first joint Yellow Ribbon Event held in Charlotte, N.C., November 16, 2013. The North and South Carolina Guard’s Yellow Ribbon Program serves as a series of stepping stones to help reunite families and reacclimatize Airmen and Soldiers to the civilian world.
