Train As You Fight To Save Lives

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport fire-fighters litter carry mock aircraft accident victims from the taxiway to a triage area where emergency medical personnel are staged to further treat them during the Triennial National Disaster Medical Systems Exercise held at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, N.C., Oct. 8, 2017. The exercise goal is to demonstrate the ability to alert, notify, and respond to an aircraft accident utilizing and communicating between various organizations to ultimately recover and render medical aid to victims. The volunteers with moulage were given various injuries to facilitate the first responders to properly triage the scene during the exercise.
